Hi Parents,

We are off to a great start here at Swan School. So many new faces and names to welcome into our "family". It's great to see everyone playing and working together. For new families this UPDATE is a weekly happening and goes out either on Thursday or Friday. It reminds us of upcoming events at Swan and to mark our calendars.

STUDENT HANGING FILES
Remember to check your child's folder at least once a week for various handouts. This week the new revised Handbook was put in each of the folders. Discoverers' folders are by the 24th St. entrance. Folders for Explorers and Navigators are by office doors. Adventurers' folders are by the library door leading out to the playground.

PARENT MEETING
Our first Parent Meeting will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 11 here at school. It will begin at 5:30, with pizza at $2.00 per slice and child care at only $2.00 per kid. This will be a great kickoff meeting with our music staff giving us a little concert as well as introductions of all our enrichment staff. The last half hour you may spend with your child's classroom teacher. We should be out before 8pm.

ART CLASSES
Next week ALL children, (K-6th) need to have their sketchbook and drawing pencils ready for class.

EXPLORE & MORE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Loida will again be offering an after school program. See her for details or check your email. Please contact Loida directly (not the school office) about your child attending. Her phone numbers are: 385-9467 or her cell # 643-0227.

SALT CREEK FAMILY CAMPOUT
Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15. This is an annual kick off event for Swan School and a great time to meet new families. There will be no school on Friday, arrive at Salt Creek Friday morning if possible. There will be scheduled hikes, activities, games and campfires. More details will soon be out, including directions, food details etc. Don't miss out on this fun event!
