An early weekly update this week to tell you about a few things:

PLANT-A-THON PACKETS ARE HERE
Our tree cards are here! The Plant-a-thon is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and as you heard at the Harvest Party, it's a really positive, well-received event. Your packets and cards are in your child's folder; feel free to start selling those cards! Please contact Tina McCleese if you have any questions - tina@mccleese.net.

WE NEED YOU SATURDAY MORNING
Come help sell tree cards at the Farmer's Market with Jude Rubin & Mark Pokorny on Saturday, November 17 from 8:30 to 11. Fulfill some of your parent volunteer hours and reduce your tree card inventory at the same time! This is a fun opportunity to present Swan School to the greater community as well. Sign up on the bulletin board in the office.

OPEN HOUSE DURING CONFERENCES
Please allow an extra 15 minutes before your conference to stop in the office, have a treat and a cup of coffee and chat with a board member while filling out a brief survey.

1/2 DAYS THIS WEEK AND NEXT
Just a reminder, school lets out at 12:30 the remainder of this week, and Mon-Wed next week as well.

AFTERSCHOOL OPTIONS
Loida will hold her after-school program on each of the half days except Wednesday 11/21. Please contact her directly to make arrangements. Stacey will have her "after school on the farm" program tomorrow, 11/14. See http://www.seedspring.org/afterschoolprograms for more information.

SPEECH EVALUATIONS
On Monday 11/26 we will have a Speech/Language Pathologist from Jefferson Healthcare coming to school to do a screening with all the preschool students and any of our other kids by request. Children will be seen in small groups for about 15 minutes; parents will receive a written results form afterwards. There is no cost to the school or the families for this service; if you would like to have your child assessed, please let us know in the office and we'll be sure to add them to the list. If your child's teacher feels it would be helpful to have your child assessed, they will mention it at your conference.
