Hi Parents,
Coming to the close of a very short week-- we've finished up conferences and are looking forward to a long weekend with friends and family. The teachers enjoyed meeting with all of you, and the board appreciates you taking the extra time to stop and visit fill out your surveys! Just a few brief items this week:
BACK TO NORMAL NEXT WEEK
Full days of school, regular afterschool program, and our usual enrichment program schedule-- next week we will be on the "Week 3" schedule for enrichment programs.
SPEECH ASSESSMENT MONDAY
Just a reminder, the Speech/Language Pathologist from Jefferson Healthcare is coming to school on Monday 11/26 to do a screening with ALL the preschool students and some additional kids by request. Please be sure to be on time-- they'll start promptly at 9 and it won't take them very long.
ROSIE HIPPO ORDERS
If you haven't picked up your order yet, please stop in the office and do so.
PLANT-A-THON
I can see a few packets still in hanging folders... please pick up your Plantathon packets as soon as possible-- this long weekend with lots of family gatherings is a great time to sell tree cards! Jude Rubin, Mark Pokorny & Sorcha Ashling sold 50 cards at the Farmer's Market on Saturday. Don't forget you can have people from afar order cards online, too: http://www.swanschool.net/plantathon.html.
WARM CLOTHES WANTED
Sharon Gonzalez-Alei is asking for donations of warm clothes for the native Americans of the Pine Ridge Reservation up in South Dakota. The winters are bitterly cold and many of the families do not have adequate heating, money to buy clothes or access to thrift stores or cities. Please donate only wool, fleece or down jackets, pajamas, sweaters, hats, gloves, pants, etc. NO COTTON. You don't need to clean out your whole closet, a couple of items is fine. If you can contribute $1 or $2 toward shipping that would be appreciated! Things can be brought to the office at school all next week, Nov. 26-30. Thank you for your support!
BOOKENDS NEEDED!
The "Library Committee" is in need of bookends for the school library; if you have any extra at home, or would be willing to pick up a set for the school, they would be put to good use.
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving. We're thankful you and your children are a part of our Swan School community!
