Hi Parents,
Welcome back, and Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a relaxing vacation-- it's great to see you all again. We have full month ahead, starting with tomorrow night's parent meeting...
PARENT MEETING TOMORROW
We'll have sandwiches from Jordini's at 5:30; the meeting will start at 6 pm. On the agenda: Russ and Lowell will both be showing slides of their classes' fall adventures-- the Navigators OPI visit and the Adventurer's Big Trip; we'll get a Plant-a-thon update and some details on the actual planting day (Feb. 9); board treasurer Tina McCleese will be available to answer questions about the budget (for those of you who missed the December parent meeting); the teachers will have informal Q&As in their individual classrooms after the all-school meeting. In order for us to order the correct amount of food this time, PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL WITH A QUICK RSVP-- how many of your family will be attending and would like to eat?
PLANT-A-THON IS APPROACHING
Hopefully you had an opportunity to sell some tree cards during vacation! If you still have tree cards and know you won't have an opportunity to sell them, please start returning them to the office. We are out of extras and we still need to sell more; we're about halfway to our goal at this point. Of course, we'd love it if you'd sell them and bring in the money, too... ;-) The actual planting date for the Plant-a-thon is February 9-- be sure to mark your calendar-- we need EVERYONE there!
OFFICE SCHEDULE
Flossie will be on vacation for the next three weeks-- rest assured, she'll be back on January 28. Siena Foxx, who is Discoverer Harmony Erickson's grandmother, will be substituting in the office in the mornings. I'll be here in the afternoons; we're striving for full office coverage from 8:30-4 Monday-Friday. Please be patient with an occasional lapse in coverage for the next 3 weeks!
TUITION DUE
Please leave your January tuition check in the box in the office.
UPCOMING EVENTS
Items to have on your calendar:
- January 21 we have no school for the Martin Luther King holiday.
- January 22-25 we have elective courses from 2:20-3:15. If there's anything you'd like to teach, let us know!
- January 25 we have our Winter Concert from 6-8. More on this soon.
- February 9 is -- you guessed it-- Plant-a-thon at Tarboo Creek
ANY PICTURE FRAMERS OUT THERE?
We have a poster (the origin of our Swan School logo) that we'd like to have framed. Is there anyone with framing materials/experience OR a willingness to fund this project? Let us know in the office.
See you tomorrow night at the parent meeting!
