Hi Parents,

Hope you have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather, we are all "back in the saddle" after our winter break. There are several important dates coming up so please make a note of them on your calendars:

FOLLOW UP TREE PLANTING FOR PLANT-A-THON
This Sunday, March 2 from 10-3pm. Only 500 hundred trees to go! Let's do it! For more information, see the email sent to you on Tuesday, Feb. 26, or contact Jude Rubin at jude@nwwatershed.org or 385-5358 or 774-1457 (cell).

WAREHOUSE PRODUCTION WORK
We are again so fortunate to be able to sign up and work a shift or two at the warehouse. This is a tremendous fund raising opportunity for Swan School and we need your participation to make it happen. There are two work shifts that currently need ten people each from 9:15am to 1pm. Sign up for TUESDAY, MARCH 4th or WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19th. The sign up board is in the office on the wall. We need 6 more people to make the Tuesday shift happen! Grab a friend and come on over!

SPRING SPAGHETTI SOCIAL!
Saturday, March 8th - 4:30-7pm
We had such a good time getting together at the Unitarian Fellowship last November that we are having a repeat evening for the whole family on Saturday evening, March 8. The Silverwater Cafe is going to provide a delicious spaghetti dinner (with a vegetarian option), for just $4 for adults and $3 for kids per person. Please bring plates and utensils for your family; everything else will be provided. We will be selling tickets in advance for this event-- please purchase your tickets in the office, starting this afternoon!

CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL OF ART
Sunday, March 9th 11am - 6pm
Swan School will be hosting a metal sculpture table at the Children's Festival of Art on Sunday, March 9 from 11-6. We need a total of 12 volunteers for four 2-hour shifts: 11-1, 1-3, 3-5 and 5-6 + cleanup. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the office. Several of the kids will need to be there anyway, for violin and/or Leslie's after school youth chorus, so you might as well get in some volunteer time while you're there! Please try to remember to have your kids wear their Swan School t-shirts or sweatshirts to this event! Call Maxine Seran with any questions: 385-9277.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Conferences will be held the week of March 10-14 for Explorers, Navigators & Adventurers. Discoverers will have conferences the week of March 17-21. There will be 12:30 dismissal for EVERYONE the week of March 10-14. (Loida will have her after school program from 12:30-5:30). Sign up sheets for conferences have been posted in the office.

THURSDAY MORNING VIOLIN
Kristin and Gary are teaming up to offer an 8 am Thursday morning violin class for all ages and abilities (parents included!) for just $5 per student. This will be an opportunity to have more playing time for the beginners and a chance for the advanced group to do some easier tunes to work on their basics. They will play ear training games like Copy Cat and Hide the Rosin, and have fun with Zodio and Frog in a Bucket. Contact Kristin at 301-5128 if you have questions. Classes started this morning!
