Hi Parents,
IMPORTANT PARENT MEETING 4/29
Next Tuesday, 4/29, we will have pizza at 5:30, and our annual meeting will be called to order at 6 pm. One of the important tasks in front of us is to elect next year's Board of Trustees. The board has voted to change the bylaws to allow for a 3-year board term instead of a 2-year term, and therefore needs to re-elect the entire board. The slate to be voted on is as follows:
- Traci Tanner - 3 year term
- Siena Foxx - 3 year term
- John Orchanian - 3 year term
- Tina McCleese - 2 year term
- Maxine Seran - 2 year term
- Paul Stafford - 2 year term
- Karmen Meier - 1 year term
EARTH DAY SUCCESS
Lisa Crosby asked that we pass along the following note--
"I would like to thank all the kids and parents who made it to the Earth day procession and performance. The kids did great! Some things that really stood out were the violins and Garyin the procession, the kids carrying the Earth Ball (a big thanks to John Shortess for blowing up the Earth Ball and making a frame to carry it), and the Choir singing in Memorial Field."
We'd like to add a thank you to Lisa, for helping facilitate the whole thing, Paul Becker who provided backup instrumentals and direction, Al McCleese, for taking terrific photos of the event, and Gary, for so capably managing violinists AND choral singers!
SPRING CONCERT 5/9
Mark your calendars now for our upcoming Spring Concert to be held on Friday, May 9th from 6-8PM.

The Port Townsend Community Orchestra's upcoming concert on May 3rd features Dennis Crabbe playing two recorder concertos. The concert will also include a selection of fun pieces: the sound track from "Victory at Sea", Virgil Thompson's music for the Depression documentary "The Plow that Broke the Plains", etc. The concert is at the Chimacum High School Auditorium and starts at 7:30. Admission is free and families are encouraged to bring their children to enjoy the music. Cookies at intermission. Swan School teachers Kristin Smith, Dahti Blanchard, Marcy Stewart, Pat Yearian, as well as lots of other friends will be playing. Come and enjoy the show!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
In reviewing the parent surveys we found that several people mentioned they had difficulty finding opportunities to fulfill their volunteer obligations. To help make it easier to know how you can help, we've decided to try splitting out the volunteer opportunities from the rest of the weekly report. Here's what we have for you this week:
